Who should I thank for extending the camping season?
Normally we open up late March and close at the end of October. We opened 2 weeks early this spring and we closed 2 weeks later last year. We may even stay open until the end of November this year, if the nights remain above freezing. This is the scary part, these people are not campers. A lot of them are homeless people. Weve got families living in pop up campers and other little 16-20 travel trailers. The school bus stops just outside the campground. A lot of these people came here for the cheap rates, $75 a week for sights with electric, $50 for sights without. You can dump up to 30 gallons of waste water and get up to 30 gallons of fresh water for free once a week. Additional dump/refill if $7. A lot of these people have minimum wage part time jobs or work odd jobs in the area. There really isnt much available other than that. Ive got a guy who is a college graduate, well a 2 year degree in video production. He used to make $20 up until 2009. He lost his job. He ended up working for someone else for about $12 per hour. Lost that job about a year later. Got unemployment based on the $12 per hour job, unemployment ran out. Now he works part time for one of these dollar store places for $7.50 per hour. If he didnt own a camper hed be homeless. He lost his house just before he lost the $12 an hour job. To be honest, he owes us about $50 right now. The only way he will be able to pay it back is to work it off. Im going to have to find something for him to do that would take 5-6 hours the owner says. This is so sad. Its starting to feel like 1931 must have. I feel bad about staying open longer. I feel worse about having to send these people away when it becomes too cold to live here safely. Worst of all, I generally go work for a motel in Florida in the winter, because thats supposed to be the busy time. It isnt that busy. Last winter it was obviously rentals were down about 10%. That owner tells me its worse now. I live in a 20 travel trailer 9 months a year and a hotel room another 3. I cant stay up here to freeze either Ive never seen it this bad before. Answer: Sorry to hear of your situation. I live at the beach and have noticed most of our area campgrounds converting to staying open year-round now. PBS also did a show a year ago on many families being foreclosed on living in campers. A lot of them move from one Walmart or Sams Club parking lot to the next because those two companies allow campers to park overnight. Anyways, I know your question is rhetorical but I have to answer it in order to follow the rules... thank the worst economy since the great depression. I dont like to play the blame game as far as appointing exact fault because there is enough blame to go around... to include all the Americans that say things like, "Oh but I just LOVE Walmart... its so cheap." I reply to them, "Let me see how you feel in 50 years when we are a 3rd world country and your children are working as waiters because there is not one single manufacturing left in the USA."

How would I go about asking for my paycheck after being fired?
About an hour ago, I posted a question if its illegal to be fired and not get paid. I worked for this annual fair that goes on in my city for two weeks so there isnt any unemployment office or anything, its just a trailer they travel. Answer: Stand up tall. Walk in the door. Say " I need to pick up my paycheck" Look them right in the eye, they will be squirming more than you. They have to pay you for time worked. Then file for unemployment while you are looking for a new job. Good Luck.

Very complicated living/custody situation for 16 year old boy.?
My daughters long term boyfriend has been temporarily living with us for about a month or so now since his house burned due to electrical problems. They are both 16 and attending the same school theyve started in. His father is living out of the country and has given the mother legal custody but as the mom is in a rehab facility the grandmother a habitual DUI offender has gaurdianship at the moment, but has been living in a small travel trailer in a trailer park collecting on money from red cross. retirement and food stamps sharing none of the money with her grandson. She is much happier without all the commitment of having a teenage boy to feed and take care, however whenever she has a bad day she threatens to seriously take him to live in the small trailer where he would not be in the same school. Our home is the most stable place for him right now. he has his own room and bathroom and hes doing great and school and for once in his life he isnt stressed or scared something bad will happen he wants to be here but as a minor he doesnt have much say legally. The mother gets out in 40 or so days and if the grandmother doesnt randomly decide she wants him back first, theres a very high chance his mom will take him to live in a small apartment with the grandmother and her. Hes also scared that if she relapses it will be his fault if hes not living here but he knows he has to take care of himself right now. Is there any way we could stabilaze his living situation and his life to the way he feels comfortable other than emancipation as the court hardly ever agrees to it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as to how we would handle this without any hurt feelings as well.

Can the Navy or VA still help us after my husbands discharge?
Okay. This is complicated. My husband just barely got out of the Navy with an honorable discharge on August 21, 2010. Its been a week and I just found out that we only got $146.00 for our travel pay. That cant even get us out of the town were in let alone rent for a trailer to move our things. We have no money to move nor any for food. We are still in the apartment that is part of military housing and have to be out by the end of the month. My husband is being cool about it saying not to worry about it, but I am worried. Is there anything that can be done about this? If so who can I get in contact with, as my husband refuses to contact anybody? PLEASE HELP Okay I have seen the paperwork and he is honorably discharged. So there was no reason to only get $146.00 for travel pay.
Answer: It doesnt hurt to ask. It will help if hes a combat vet. The problem is that anything will be on military/government time and you probably already know how that works. They might also just tell you that you should have planned better. Its hard because you get used to the military pretty much taking care of you. Then one day you realize when you dont sign up for another enlistment, you dont work for them anymore and its like any other job you quit. Once you walk away, the benefits just stop. Wife Cheating, found pics they were sent to me by the Guy, can i get custody of son I am filing for a divorce?
I found out yesterday that my wife is cheating on me wife another guy for over a year now, we have a 3 year old son together that I take care of a 100 percent because she goes out every weekend blows her money and is cheating on me, she never spends any time with us, is on this guys phone plan and yesterday he sent me pictures of them together kissing, and her doing an act on him, I have all these pictures is it safe to say I can get her on adultry and is she entitled to anything..... I want custody of my son and i want her out of my life My assets are 2000 Ford Excursion paid off 2007 Travel trailer Owe 12,000 Her car which is in my name 2004 Mazda 3 owe 12,000 Investment property with tenant occuiped owe 90,000 Our House owned outright tax value only 24,600 also I work 2 jobs, and while I am doing all this she doesnt contribute to anything, does not clean, does not cook, does not play with our son, I have to do the laundry, and everything around the house. Answer: If you are the primary caretaker for your son then you need to show that in court....keep a journal of how often she is away from home...what she does when she is home that doesnt directly involve carrying for the child....does she drink heavily? Track the time she comes in at night and how often she is gone...stuff like that, if you keep a journal you are more credible than she is....if you can show that she doesnt provide the daily care, even when she is at home then its very possible for you to get custody...that alone with the pictures to show the affair give you an edge, but if you can provide witnesses to her shananigans that would be helpful too. If you live in a no-fault state, it wont really matter that she is having an affair...but it will show her to be irresponsible. Good Luck.

THEY are the ones stereotyped to death by the Libs. My dad has a red neck because he WORKED in the sun for years and the color never went away. There are so-called rednecks in every state of the US and they all have different viewpoints about things. I ask because of reading Yahoo comments on articles and constantly see people saying, "you redneck" and "go back to your trailer" and other negative things just because someone is against the mosque, doesnt like Obama or lives in the South or anything I am from Louisiana and proud. I have traveled the US and the best people are in the South, period. not hug necessarily, but to shake his hand, because they work hard in sweltering heat
Answer: I have rednecks in my family, too. I am from Georgia. Redneck originally was not a pejorative term, it started out referring to someone who worked outdoors and got sunburned. The South is awesome. Where I live, in a suburb of Atlanta, the population is very diverse. And at my college, there are students from all places on the globe. What is the strengh of 3/4" screws in plywood?
I just built a trailer from a Harbor Freight Kit. I want to use it to transport my Yamaha Virago XV700 which weighs about 550pounds. I put down a 3/4" plywood floor and bough six D-rings from with a 700 pound rating. I used 3/4" wood screws going into the 3/4" floor so that they wouldnt poke through the other side. My question is: Will this be strong enough to hold my motorcycle down if I anchor it to all six D-rings? If not I can anchor it to the frame, but these D-rings provide better control. I plan to travel about 300 miles on the freeway. Thanks,
Answer: You do not secure a load with 3/4 screws on anything. Drill through the wood and use a flat steel bar on the underside to spread the load out over a bigger area using a min 5/16 metal bolt at least 1.1/2 " long. The bouncing that the load and trailer will do will rip out the screws the first time you hit a pothole or go over train tracks. In some locations the load must be secured to the frame and not the floor. 3/4 " is not strong enough to take all the stress without some reinforcement from under neath.I would not even secure the D rings to the floor but to the frame. have them welded on to the frame for safety. It`s your bike, but if you get pulled over with your current method they may question if your load or even your floor is secured to the trailer properly
