i was goning on a cruise and the travel agent said the rule change from 24hr notice to 72hrs so it is to late to add other person with u
Answer: Each cruise line has their own rules concerning this. Princess I believe has a 72 hour advance notice. But Carnival may be 24 hour notice, that is unless this has changed. It is all because of homeland security. They need the passenger list before hand. So check with the cruise company you are going on to see if it is too late to add another passenger.

how much time should a buyer expect a real estate agent to put in on looking for a home?
How much time should someone expect an agent to put into helping someone buy a house? So many hours based on the price range? I have a situation now where my agent has lost interest and has changed their attitude and the issues have been caused by the selling agent and his deceit and errors. He listed the house as having an electric water heater, but it had a gas water heater and he refused to let the gas be turned for the inspection. Finally he did allow it after 4 days of push and pull, and low and behold the water heater is defective. There was a 4 day delay there. Then he forced my agent to travel to the house 2-3 times over 4 days from another town, to see if the utilities were turned on. I am looking for a certain house price, condition, location and I may have to look at dozens to find what I want. Ive looked at over 25-30 myself, viewed maybe 10 and been late to the party on 2-3 and finally found one, but here come the lies from the seller about the source of the ceiling water leaks and my agent is taking their frustration out on me because it is obvious agents must stay cordial to each other because they will most likely meet again down the road on another deal. What was cordial communication is no longer. It is obvious that my agent has put in about 99% of the time they want on this house and Im alone on it from here, take it or walk. This agent has helped me look since October 2009. They were the selling agent for a relatives house per my referral and the commission was 3% to them and their agency, on a 175K house. Im going to look at houses before contacting the agent for an inside look. I am in no way trying to cause the agent any time. But time is money and also, buyers do not want to be pressured into something. On the current house, I was told walk now today or complete the deal once the bank decides on your repair request whic his expected on Monday. I was advised to walk now, not after the bank tells me no on the repair. Ive had one lender not consider my application because the loan amount was too small. Another one basically did the same thing. What should a buyer expect from an agent on "time spent"? there were ceiling stains and the leak was repaired, condensation on a pipe but the agent lied and said the drip pan. The ceilings in 2 rooms were painted but you can tell there was damage. I am looking at foreclosures and many are under $50,000. Ive told the agent we could set a minimum commission regardless of sale price. I can always start letting the selling agents show me around and then they will get ticked when they find out I have a buyers agent and their commission gets cut in half. using cash, on foreclosures and other bank owned homes, under 50K. This agent made a commission in July on the sale of a relatives house per my referral and the price was $175K. Not sure how many hours, but many. They want me to let them show me all houses Im interested in. Many times the photos are very deceiving and when we view it, we know it is not a buy for me. I can not control what we see, once we view one. I try to look into them as much as I can before calling the agent for a view.
Answer: How much is the purchase price of this house? Were you pre--qualified? How many hours of her time do you think you have taken? Do you now have approval for a loan? She should help you out, but there is a limit. When you are looking at homes in that price range, there is always going to be something wrong with them, you cant really get around that. Even though you gave the agent a referral, there becomes a point where ANY agent is going to go into "there is nothing I can do to satisfy this person, I am going to cut my losses now and get away from this" mode. She may be in that mode. For what you are spending/buying, you really shouldnt be taking this much time. I can see why everyone is getting mad, you might need to accept that you are not going to find a decent home in that price range. She might have only taken you on as a client because you helped her out with the other house. I dont know any agents in my area who would touch any buyer who is looking for a home for less than $100k, much less $50k. For your situation, its like walking into Walmart and expecting excellent customer service. Thats not going happen, if you want better service you have to spend more.

Honeymoon Cruise IDEAS?
Me and my fiance` want to go on a cruise for our honeymoon but have no idea what cruise liner to use We are wanting to go cheap but want a fun time, 5 days would be enough : I am thinking Bahamas, Caribbean, that kinda thing. Please give me some suggestions or who I should go through, should I use a travel agent?? If I book now will I get a discount since we are going in May 2011? Thanks
Answer: My persoanl favorite is Royal Caribbean. It is one of the top cruise liners in popularity and quality. However, you said you want cheaper and just want to have fun. Because of this, I think carnival would be the ship for you Carnival is generally cheaper than most cruise lines and is very popular too. Its a popular line for adults in their 20s who just want to have fun. There are quite a bit of kids on board during holiday break and in the summer time though. I suggest you dont go during any of those times. Yes, carnival sounds like the line for you :] To answer your question about the travel agent, I say yes because they know what they are talking about and can find the perfect fit for you

What are the benefits of using a travel agent?
Myself and 7 other friends have decided we are going to take a trip to Oasis resort in Cancun for 7 days in spring break. Getting the cheapest airfare and having 4 to a room would cost us a little more than $800 a person. Say If I were to use a travel agent how would this benefit me and would it make the price lower?
Answer: Travel agents can often get better rates for transportation and lodging. Travel agents can get all of your visas; this is a big deal if you will be going through several countries. Travel agents may have information not readily available to the general public about places with a bad reputation, or other issues that might make one want to make an alternate plans.

What do you think Heres Your "Change " Agents easily get U.S. passports with bogus info another 9-11 ?
CBS Despite government promises to tighten the process of issuing e-Passports, undercover agents had no trouble getting the passports using bogus information, according to the Center for Public Integrity. In one instance, federal agents were able to dupe the State Department by using a dead mans name on an e-Passport application, according to Gregory Kutz, an investigator for the Government Accountability Office, who will testify Thursday to a Senate committee about the matter. This is not the first time undercover agents have blatantly exposed U.S. security holes in obtaining passports. Last year, in a similar test of post-9/11 security, a federal investigator obtained passports using phony documents and the identities of a dead man and a 5-year-old boy. "States passport issuance process continues to be vulnerable to fraud," Kutz says in prepared testimony obtained by the CPI. Kutz said his team was able to get the State Department to issue five of the seven e-Passports it requested using fake information. According to the CPI, Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md., who chairs the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security, is introducing legislation Thursday in a bid to fix the security holes exposed by GAO. The legislation would give officials who screen e-Passport applications new authority to access information in sensitive federal, state and other databases to help identify fraudulent applicants, the CPI notes. "The U.S. passport is the gold standard for identification. It certifies an individuals identity and U.S. citizenship, and allows the passport holder to travel in and out of the United States and to foreign countries, obtain further identification documents, and set up bank accounts," Cardin said. "We simply cannot issue U.S. passports in this country on the basis of fraudulent documents. There is too much at stake." http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/07/29/national/main6724373.shtml

To book air tickets to Toronto from chennai/coimbatore?
Hi I have to travel Toronto, canada through student visa. I dont have much money. I have to travel in first week of september 2010. I dont know whether it is best to book tickets through airways or agents? If airways, which airways will be cheap and affordable? if agents, which agent provide us good service? Can you please share me their contact details if you have it ASAP. Please advise me on this. your help will be much appreciated. regards sakthivel
Answer: Given that you have less than 5 weeks before your intended travel date, you have basically left it a little late to get the best prices from airlines, as they would have sold out the lower fares already. All is not totally lost though. You should search through comparison sites such as http://www.kayak.com or http://www.skyscanner.net to search for your best options, google air tickets to see if any local websites are offering a deal.
