Can someone help me renew my faith in sex?
I just watched the movie Kensey in my colleges sociology class. Its about this sociologist who does these studies on sexual behavior, and I....theres like A LOT of sex/masturbation scenes between old men, gays, cheating partners, etc.....and Im....in a .....spaced, disgusted mode. Yeah. Actually I dont think I really know what Im saying right now. Im just feeling sick. Lmfao luckily we didnt turn to experimental sex...the proff probably thought a sociological film applying to sex would appeal to us hormonal young adults. And yes, this movie was way too disturbing x Zayra -- dont
Answer: Yeah that movie was a fcking horrible. Im sorry you had to watch it, it disturbed the sht out of me too.

Is this a good plan for my future job outlook. Please help?
I am a freshmen this year in college. I want to get a bachelor degree in sociology minoring in criminal justice. Also after or during i would like to go into the military. What jobs would be good for this background. Thanks
Answer: i would definitly look into the officer field in any military branch. as far as jobs with a sociology degree to get full use of that degree i would go into the military police field where you will find jobs like NCISNAVAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION SERVICE CID CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION or become a dog handler. Youd be an excellent candidate for enlisting into a Psychological Operations unit Psyops. As a sociologist, youd be applying your skills about how groups influence individuals, as well as how groups can be influenced by messages [Propaganda]. A lot of enlisted and officer troopers in psyops and the civil affairs units have college and graduate degrees Also-I just remembered, the Army has its own Institute for Behaviorial and Social Science. It seems like they are they ones who conduct all the Command Climate and Quality of Life surveys. hope this helps

am i trying to do too much in school?
in school im a junior in high school im not taking a lunch and im taking one honors course, one college course, and french. then im taking reg. math, social studies, english, and chem. im also taking sociology and world lit. after school i have dance team for 2 hrs 4 days a week and regular dance which is also 2 hrs 2 times a week. so 2x a week i have four hour a week dance classes. its only been one day and i have a test and homework. and, i have my SAT. im already starting to feel the stress but im afraid if i drop a class, i wont make it to a good college. what should i do
Answer: Dont worry about not making it into college. Why stress yourself out for that Colleges arent looking for someone who is trying too hard to make it, they are looking for normal, interesting individuals. Do what you are comfortable with. I can say that I empathize for you, because like you I do take college courses at my school but believe me I wouldnt subject myself to all of that dancing and studying at the same time. Calm down, maybe just stick with the dance team and forget about the regular dance practice. The SAT is very important, Id focus on that first, then afterward, if you want, take up the regular practice again. Good luck.

What can you do with a Sociology degree?
Also, is this major good?
Answer: I normally hear of psychology and sociology being thought of as "joke majors" or something. Im not really sure why but people think that way. I wouldnt get a degree in that, I guess for some sort of stigma behind it.

should i take A-level law ?
well i have to choose my final choice of A-levels tomorrow and im still undecided on taking law. Im a very shy person so i do try to pick subjects which dont require many presentations etc i know all classes have them but more mathematical subjects usually have less class participation than lets say sociology which includes many debates. Im just wondering because i really am interested in law but i dont want the fact that i have to talk in public make my dream subject a living hell for me. so has anyone taken A-level law and how was it ? thank you.
Answer: i havent studied it but my girlfriend has. When she was in 6th form she said it was quite hard and i know she got worried and nervous when she had to do a couple of presentations, there wasnt many though I hear that it is interesting, but you need the motivation and knowledge to do it There are a few class discussions and a few role plays involved and you also go to the courts to see some cases during your first year My girlfriend dropped it as she failed it and didnt like the teacher

After November will this be an another Illegal Immigration Problem?
FROM: THE MANITOBA HERALD The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The recent actions of the Tea Party are prompting an exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear theyll soon be required to hunt, pray, and to agree with Bill OReilly and Glenn Beck. Canadian border farmers say its not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota. The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didnt have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?" In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields. "Not real effective," he said. "The liberals still got through and Rush annoyed the cows so much that they wouldnt give any milk." Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons and drive them across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves. "A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a single bottle of imported drinking water. They did have a nice little Napa Valley cabernet, though." When liberals are caught, theyre sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR races. In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in powdered wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior-citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the 50s. "If they cant identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said. Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and are renting all the Michael Moore movies. "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just cant support them," an Ottawa resident said. "How many art-history majors does one country need?" In an effort to ease tensions between the United States and Canada, Vice President Biden met with the Canadian ambassador and pledged that the administration would take steps to reassure liberals. A source close to President Obama said, "Were going to have some Paul McCartney and Peter, Paul & Mary concerts. And we might even put some endangered species on postage stamps. The President is determined to reach out," Biden said. "But he is currently out of the country on another vacation"
Answer: Nice parody. Thanks.

Sociology, psychology im worried the alevel of chose are going to be to difficult?
Im 18 and Ive chose sociology psychology and human biology. These three subjects are the far most interesting subjects to take but I was warned they are incredibly hard and then to be put together is near enough impossible to do but Ive stupidly went a head with it because once Ive made my mind up I do not change and I fought pretty hard to do these because they were against me to do them since Im expected to only get es but I never tried in school so I only got cs. I have actually left my current job to commit to this course 100%. But now that Im doing it I feel really Sick of the thought of not been able to do it. Is it even possible for an average brain to get hi passes in these subjects?? Im naturally curious about these subjects and look up on google religiously to get info when need weather it be a conversation Ive had or someone becoming ill. But I have started to doubt my ability to pass. Is it really as hard as they have made out? Have I go a good chance to getting good if I give it my all??
Answer: Your trying to make excuses for your efforts. If you are truly interested in all three disciplines. The go for it. it sounded like you wanted to give your 100% if that was the case, and that is your goal then do it, dont question your motives, If you go in with the understanding your going to do it, and your going to learn, you will. Youve set the goal, now achieve it. You may find that it is a little more than you can handle at times, But that happens throughout life. Many people will tell you things are hard, in your life. Life is hard no matter what. You are letting others influence your thinking. You have set a goal, that is all that is important. Its how you go about accomplishing it that counts. Nobody can tell another how they will handle learning. Each individual learns and achieves at their own pace. That is not to say they can not take more pressure, by adding more difficult classes. Yes, some will fail, the important part of that is that you dont give up, out of fear. You may have to drop one of the classes, and take it later, no harm in that. You might also find that one compliments the other, and what you lean in one , helps in understanding something in another. I say if you want to learn, and you want to take all three classes at the same time, then do it, give it your all , as you said. If it becomes more than you can handle. Talk to your adviser and see what they recommend, I am sure that they would not want you to fail, just because you have a heavy schedule. The point is, give it your all, but dont just talk yourself into giving up out of some preserved fear of failure. That is not good.

I am interested in occupational therapy or speech pathology for Masters. I have a B/A in Sociology. Choices?
I graduated Hunter College in NYC with a b/a because I was uncertain in what I wanted to accomplish in life. Now, I have decided I would like to approach one of these two areas; however, I am at a standstill. Most of the schools I have reviewed thus far require prerequisites. I am interested in going to a school in New York City or long island close to NYC and not take any prerequisites before getting admittance to the program. I am also open to the option of online classes. Also, I know a lot of schools do not require the GRE these days. Is it possible there is a campus/online school out there that doesnt require the GRE nor prerequisites for one of these two programs? Please advise. I greatly appreciate it
Answer: i am actually going into that field although i am not at the point of applying for a graduate school i have talked to many about what is needed to get admissions into a speech pathology program and prerequisites are definitely required along with the GRE. I would suggest completing them at a community college it shouldnt take you long and it would be cheaper just make sure the credits would be accepted in the graduate program you are interested in applying to.
