Why am I so delayed? Is there something wrong with me?
I am male and 16 and I have so many things that are wrong with me I am not sure if I am normal I have Autism spectrum disorder and I also have 22q deletion syndrome and my mom told me that I have when I was little I have a cognitive delay when I was 18 months I was 10 months behind even thought I was walking at 13 months. I would like to know why I have so many problems with me I looked up cognitive delay and it meant mental retardation so I should be asking why am I so retarded. I am behind in everything and I mean everything I thin I have a IQ in the 50 through 70 area and I am socially awkward I think I have a global development delay. I also have sensory problems and that I also have issues with my health I had a heart surgery to correct my ASD and VSD heart defects I think I am the most severe person with a disability I also suck at everything I do and have no skills I also think that I am good at nothing. I also have a speech problem where I talk thought my nose a lot and I get made fun of for it, I wonder how can I have less problems? I also am bad at spelling and punctuation and gramme and have to use the YA spell check I also am slow at my reflexes so I could have mild mental retardation or global development delay. I also rush thought everything to get it done so that might be why I also am extremely lazy and I dont want to do anything that involves physical activitys. The only thing that is good about me is that I dont take medication but anything else I suck at and there are so many things that are wrong with me I just dont know why it has to happen to me.

Answer: Quite honestly to put this question and story together for yahoo answers you must not be too "behind" You used big words and you put everything together to make it easily readable. That is more than I can say for a lot of questions on here. Having ASD doesnt mean you are "retarded" either there are many many people who live perfectly normal lives with wives/husbands families and carry out just fine everyday with great jobs. I wouldnt worry to much about it but if you are truly worried talk to someone that you trust such as your mom or dad, doctor, etc. They would know more about your exact condition of ASD and how to make it the easiest for you to live with it. Best of luck to you dear

Teenaged libertarians - how "enslaved" by American society do you feel?
I ask this question from the far left wing of the political spectrum, and maybe its a little unfair. But I just saw an exchange between two people in YA politics where one claimed that the Democratic Partys victory at the polls in 2008 brought "the party of liberty" to power, and where the other one replied that this was a lie, since "the dems brought slavery." I know that one angry answer posted in YA Politics doesnt necessarily reflect the position of an entire political movement. But just out of curiosity, I was wondering: how many Libertarian posters to YA feel personally "enslaved"? How many of you are seriously alarmed at the Democratic Partys health care law and seriously upset about the governments huge bailouts for the Wall Street banks and the auto industry, probably, yet still feel that you personally still have a great deal of personal and political liberty? Clarification: Im not asking whether teenaged libertarians feel our society is "fair." I used to be a teenaged libertarian myself, and I thought it was grossly unjust. But fair or unfair, my question really goes to how "enslaved" do people in here feel by what they think of as an almost totalitarian system? How many many use phrases like "enslaved" as political metaphors, while still feeling that they personally enjoy a fair amount of liberty?

Answer: When people ask you what is your political affiliation and I say Libertarian as in I believe that the Libertarian party should be given a chance at presidency they either think: 1. I mean the liberal party Democrat cause they didnt know that the Libertarian party existed and they sound so similar. or 2. I am some crazy nutcase for believing in their ideas. e.g the picture of Ron Paul comes immediately to their minds I think I do feel enslaved because I hate the fact that the governments gives big bailouts to Businesses as I believe that the state should be completely separated from economic mattersfree market system. Maybe some Libertarians dont believe this but I seriously want the federal reserves shut down and hate this whole central bank system. I believe in free market with very limited government interventions but bailouts are not interventions that I dream of. I dont believe that I live in a totalitarian system but at the same time I still believe that this country should strive for small government and businesses that create healthy competition which brings down the prices.

Why am I so behind in every skill?
I am 16 male and my mom said that I was behind when I was little I was cognitively behind when I was 18 months old and was 10 months cognitively behind I was wonder what cognitive delay meant and I looked it up and It said that It was the same as mental retardation I also was walking at 13 months and crawling at 9 months. I wonder does cognitive delay means mental retardation. I also have a lot of problems physically and health wise I am extremely poor in my skills and everything I wonder how come I am so behind in all of this? I cant do sports because I suck I also have a lot of health problems and I had Autism Spectrum disorder and 22q Deletion syndrome when I was younger they thought I had Aspurgers but I might have mental retardation I never rock back and forward and never had a seizure like with severe autism which I think I have I also am on no medication. I am also extremely lazy and not want to do anything so I am very behind socially physically and maybe mentally. I think I may have global development delay to. I also have bad grammar and punctuation and my reflexes are extremely poor and I am terrible at them. I am very behind in everything. I had a heart surgery as a baby when I was little so I was wondering if that might be a cause to all of my delays I had ASD and VSD heart prob ems so that might be why.

Answer: What you describe does sound like Aspergers. It cannot be cured, but there are good ways to learn to deal with it. See if someone in your school can help.

18 weeks pregnant, pain in abdomen when lifting leg...?
I know this is the wrong catergory, but "pregnancy" has been taken over by too many trolls and silly teens...... So Im 18 weeks pregnant 2nd pregnancy and Im having this pain deep in my abdomen on the right side. At first I thought it was because I had waited too long to use the bathroom...because I wanted to sleep just one more hour But usually when that happens it goes away by mid-day. If Im resting and layin go on my left side it feels fine, no pain at all. But when Im standing the pain starts, not too bad-Id say a 3. The worst is when I lift my right leg to get into the car. Wow its bad then And it almost feels like I can feel something baby, organ? drop down slightly. I have an appt with my OB on monday, and hes super busy, so I know if he wants to see me itll mean an entire day in the waiting room. Id like to aviod that since I have a toddler My other worry is that my husband was just diagnosed with either a prostate infection or epididymits...either way his dr put him on broad spectrum antibiotics and said they would knock out either infection. We were intimate the night before he started having symptoms, but his dr didnt say anything about being concerned about my health. However when I googled epididymitis, and the internet says that typically it is a complication of an STD-which neither of us have, we were both tested. Any ideas? My MIL suggested kidney stones, but Ive never had them so I dont know what that would feel like.....thanks in advance

Answer: It sounds like round ligament pain to me, which is annoying but not serious. Hopefully it will get better as your internal organs shift to make way for baby.

Why do I have so many defects? I think that I am inferior?
I am 16 male and I think I have the bad genes in my life because I have social problems and acne and a few disabilitys that might make me inferior. I have 22.q.11.2. deletion syndrome and Autism spectrum disorder and I have had many health issues and I would like to know how to fix it. I also have had a heart surgery. I think the only good things about me is that I am not on any medication so that is good. I dont know why do all the bad things happen to me I am also very behind in everything from my problems.

Answer: Hey Cheer Up Buddy. You are not inferior at all. Some of us have all sorts of problems in life but this doesnt mean we are inferior in any way I had Meningitis when I was 4 years old and this left me nearly deaf and with poor eyesight, Im 18 now and lead a perfectly normal life. I dont look on my problems as being inferior; but just as an inconvenience. Try to put your problems in the past and enjoy life to the full My problems dont stop me from doing what I Love, playing the Piano and Electronic Keyboards I have won numerous prizes for my playing, so why dont you get an interesting hobby to help take your mind off things. It worked for me All the very best to you for the future

Why are my skills so poor at everything, am I retarded?
Every single skill that I do I am poor at I have tried everything and I just cant get it right I would list out the things that I suck in. I am 16 male and I have Autism spectrum disorder and 22.q.11.2. deletion syndrome and I was wondering if I have mild mental retardation and I think that there is nothing that I am good at. 1. I have poor Grammar and punctuation and spelling I have to use YA Spell check. 2. I suck at the things that I like, like Videogames and I suck at sports though I dont relay like sports 3, I have poor posture neck and back 4. I might have a IQ between 45 to 55 5. My social skills are terrible. 6. I have almost no friends 7. I have poor cognition skills 8. I can never get anything right 9. I am stuck in my own world most of the time. 10. I have bad acne 11. I am relay annoying. 12. I am physically and mentally weak] 13. I am extremely gullible and will fall for any trick. 14. I have these weird obsessions with like in interest that I like. 15. I have never won anything in my life 16. I have had a heart surgery for my ASD and VSD heart defects. 17. I am a loner at school. 18. I have poor health. 19. I havcounselingng for the problems I am dealing with thinking I am retarded And that is the only thing that I can think of myself I think the only good thing that I like about me is that I am not on medication for anything.

Answer: No you arent retarded. You are amazing. Its not your fault you had heart surgery. You put yourself into the counseling. You can fix acne. you can grow in strength. You can make friends. It takes time to learn things like spelling, we are all learning every day. Its not your fault you have poor health. You are the only one who thinks of yourself as annoying. Everybody makes mistakes. Posture can be re-done. You can get better at everything. Nobody cares, honestly, about all these things you have on your list. Whats between the lines is what people care about. People care about people who care about themselves. Youre honestly making me angry by being so concerned with what you CAN"T DO Dont think that way. all of these things that you think you cant do are challenges. EVERYBODY HAS CHALLENGES BUT the difference with them, and you, is that they overcome theirs. And you sit and mope about them. GET UP AND MAKE AN EFFORT i cant stress to you the importance of self love and self motivation. Its all in your head. Check out these sites: http://www.2knowmyself.com/Success/Believe_in_yourself http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/How_To_Believe_In_Yourself.html http://www.quotegarden.com/confidence.html just dont give up. Have you noticed that nearly everything in this world is based on balance?
Hi, I would love to read your views on this. I have noticed that many things in this world is based on the concept of balance Think about it. Balanced diet, work life balance, in chemistry balancing chemical equations, in biology, homeostasis is about balance, in physics every action there is an reaction, visible light is in the middle of the electromagnetic spectrum, when playing competitively in sport balance between attack and defence, all the faulty thinking habits which cause depression are examples of out of balance thinking e.g. ignoring the positives, too little or too much anxiety causes problems, when parenting we must balance between protecting the child and giving them freedom. Overprotection is no good neither is spoiling them. Assertiveness is in between passiveness and aggressives. Buddhism talks about the middle way. In nature there is talk about balance. The same applies to health. Too high or low blood pressure is no good. Even in economics, balance plays part. The earth is nearly in the middle of the solar system. Not too close to the sun nor too far. Indeed, the hundreds more examples. Of course this does not mean that we live our lives in half half portions. Sometimes, we need to shift more to one side if the circumstances require it. Isnt this interesting? What is your view?

Answer: That is so interesting I suppose its because everyone wants to be perfect, so to be perfect is to have the right amount of everything. But of course, no one is perfect, thus nothing is actually in perfect balance.

Where am I on the political spectrum?
Id like a somewhat in-depth answer, am I liberal or conservative or in the middle for social or fiscal issues etc etc. What party/ideology would I most fit in? All that stuff. And please do take care to note a difference between my social and fiscal and whatever other categories you can think of views. 1. I think lowering taxes would stimulate the economy 2. I believe businesses should take responsibility with the environment 3. I believe affirmative action is an awful idea, the most skilled should get the job 4. I hate modern feminist ideology. I am for equal pay and what-have-you though, as long as the woman is doing the same amount of work as a man. 5. I believe its a right to have a gun, as outlined in the second amendment. 6. I believe gay marriage must be legal or their must be a legal equivalent that grants the same rights to gays. However, I do not think civil unions are enough as they dont give the same rights as marriage. I do respect the churchs rights though. 7. I am an atheist. 8. Freedom or religion is extremely important for me. 9. Freedom or expression and press are extremely important as well. 10. Marijuana and some other drugs should be legalized as I believe they arent harmful, its a right to do drugs, and it would be good for the economy. 11. I believe abortion should be legal in most cases, but perhaps some restrictions would be necessary like how many one can have. In general, I dont really care about abortion-rights. 12. Iraq was a stupid war, Afghanistan has some merit to it but hasnt played out well. 13. I believe that the death penalty is sometimes necessary. 14. I dont believe in torture. 15. Political correctness is bullshit. 16. I believe in a somewhat-restricted free market, but a free market nonetheless 17. I dont like the idea of a nanny-state/welfare-state 18. I dont like the passed health-care legislation but I do think the health-care system needs a serious reform to make it of greater quality and more affordable. 19. Insurance companies and related companies have a right to sell what they have, but in the US they are charging way too much for their low-quality services, and should be affordable. 20. Businesses should always be accountable for what they do.

Answer: You are a conservative. In addition, your opinions or beliefs are about the same as mine but I consider myself far right or nearly libertarian. As far as I am concerned you should be allowed to vote about ten times as your brain is about ten times better than most persons. God bless you.

Your opinion on Fat Acceptance?
With an ubundance to food the cheapist of which being fatty and unhealthy coupled with an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, fat seems to be becoming the new social norm, with 1.6 billion overweight people worldwide. On one side, there are the people who say we should accept fat people. Shows like "Drop Dead Diva" and "Huge" feature and celebrate larger-than-life acters and actresses. Some people say that teasing a larger individual about their size only damages self esteem and self worth, making progress for weigh loss stay at a stand still. On the opposite side of the spectrum, some people believe being nice or even passive to someones size actually hurts the individual more than calling them fat. Without that person feeling judged or glowered at, what is to motivate them to lose weight and keep health problems such as heart conditions at bay? What is your opinion?

Answer: i agree and disagree with those statements. no i dont think being fat should be promoted for because for some it means being unhealthy. Being over weight comes with many complications and why would you want to be unhealthy? But no i dont think overweight people should be made fun of and put down. Encouraged yes. Honestly if you can find a way to be fat and healthy then by all means go ahead. Health is my main point here. I think that some people promote the idea of being fat because they are trying to rid the world of the image that being thin is the only thing that is attractive. The world is what we make it and we have made a certan image of attractiveness that is not achievable or easy for a lot of people. But i dont think most people realize or think about the fat that they are also promoting unhealthiness. like i said, health is my main point here. Sure, promote the hell out of having confidence in yourself and self acceptance. but dont give me that fat is ok crap. its not.

Do Aquarians have schizotypal personality disorder?
The World Health Organizations ICD-10 lists schizotypal personality disorder as F21. Schizotypal disorder. Note that in ICD-10, Schizotypal disorder is classified as a mental disorder associated with schizophrenia rather than a personality disorder as with DSM-IV. The DSM-IV designation of schizotypal as a personality disorder is controversial.[5] It is characterized as: A disorder characterized by eccentric behaviour and anomalies of thinking and affect which resemble those seen in schizophrenia, though no definite and characteristic schizophrenic anomalies have occurred at any stage. There is no dominant or typical disturbance, but any of the following may be present: Inappropriate or constricted affect the individual appears cold and aloof; Behaviour or appearance that is odd, eccentric, or peculiar; Poor rapport with others and a tendency to social withdrawal; Odd beliefs or magical thinking, influencing behaviour and inconsistent with subcultural norms; Suspiciousness or paranoid ideas; Obsessive ruminations without inner resistance, often with dysmorphophobic, sexual or aggressive contents; Unusual perceptual experiences including somatosensory bodily or other illusions, depersonalization or derealization; Vague, circumstantial, metaphorical, overelaborate, or stereotyped thinking, manifested by odd speech or in other ways, without gross incoherence; Occasional transient quasi-psychotic episodes with intense illusions, auditory or other hallucinations, and delusion-like ideas, usually occurring without external provocation. The disorder runs a chronic course with fluctuations of intensity. Occasionally it evolves into overt schizophrenia. There is no definite onset and its evolution and course are usually those of a personality disorder. It is more common in individuals related to schizophrenics and is believed to be part of the genetic "spectrum" of schizophrenia. That describes Aquarius to a tee.

Answer: oh yes but only if Aries r narccisists, Gemini r Bi-Polar, Libras r borderline dependancy, Cancer r OCD, Pisces r depressed in general, and Virgos r obsessive compulsives
