1. what was the climate like in colonial Pennsylvania?

Answer: The above answer is correct insofar as the Little Ice Age spanned the entire colonial settlement of Pennsylvania. However, the climate wasn't terribly different from today. Pennsylvania was noted by British and other European settlers as much more extreme than Europe in climate. The summers were much hotter than in temperate, sea-regulated Britain. Although it lies on a much lower latitude than the British Isles, the winters were and are much colder than British winters. That's because Pennsylvania lies at the eastern end of a continent without the ocean currents and the jet stream to regulate its weather as they have in Europe. During those hot summers in colonial Philadelphia, there were periodic and sometimes severe outbreaks of Yellow Fever, a mosquito-borne disease thought of today as tropical, but which was deadly and common in the swampy early city. Wealthy colonists often built summer homes outside the city to escape the dangers of summertime in Philadelphia.

2. What was the climate and geography like in the 13 colonies (1600 - 1700)?
Virginia Massachusetts New Hampshire Maryland Connecticut Rhode Island Delaware North Carolina South Carolina New Jersey New York Pennsylvania Georgia
Answer: Most of the northern hemisphere was in the middle of the "Little Ice Age" at that time. You can read more about the little ice age, and thus the climate at the time, by looking at my sources. But beyond the colder climate caused by the Little Ice Age, the climate and certainly the geography, were the same back then as it is now, so much of your answer can be found by looking at the weather and geography of those states today.

3. This week, will you remember the 9-11-01 Terrorist Attack on the US?
I worked across the highway from the Pentagon. When I evacuated my office building, I heard a second explosion, and thought, "My God, we are at war!" It was the most horrific day in my life. The military jet, F-14, that flew to Pennsylvania to find the fourth plane passed over my car, I prayed that our serviceman wouldn't have to be a suicide bomber by hitting our commercial airliner. My prayers are for world peace, and peace in the US. I still can't understand how people live with the threat of terrorism on a daily basis. Will you remember 9-11-01 or have you moved on? God bless the US and everyone in the world!
Answer: thanks for reminding me

5. Baseball survey: Favorite team and state you live in (Day 2 + Results Day 1)?
Hopefully I can get an understanding of (A) the favorite team in a state with multiple teams and (B) the favorite team in a state without a team. Please only answer once. Not sure how many days I'll go, but I'll aim for 5. (posting the results each time, going by state) Then I'll post the final results after those 5 days. example (nothing more, nothing less, otherwise not counted) Twins, Minnesota. and if you're out of the United States, then go by country. Oh, and star to spread it around!! Thanks :) Results (after 1 day) Alabama Alaska Arizona Arkansas California: Red Sox 40% (2) Giants 40% (2), Dodgers 20% (1), Colorado Connecticut: Yankees 100% (1) Delaware Florida: 75% Rays (3) 25% Reds (1) Georgia: Braves 100% (1) Hawaii Idaho Illinois: Cubs 75% (3), White Sox 25% (1) Indiana Iowa: Cubs 100% (1) Kansas Kentucky: Reds 100% (1) Louisiana Maine Maryland Massachusetts: Red Sox 100% (2) Michigan: Tigers 67% (4), Yankees 16% (1), Cardinals 16% (1) Minnesota: Twins 100% (4) Mississippi Missouri: Cardinals 100% (1) Montana: Mariners 100% (1) Nebraska Nevada New Hampshire New Jersey: Yankees 33% (2), Phillies 33% (2) Reds 17% (1), Mets 17% (1), New Mexico New York: Yankees 100% (7) North Carolina North Dakota Ohio Oklahoma Oregon Pennsylvania: Yankees 50% (1) Phillies 50% (1) Rhode Island South Carolina: Reds 100% (1) South Dakota Tennessee Texas: Braves 50% (1), Red Sox 50% (1) Utah Vermont Virginia Washington: Mariners 100% (1) West Virginia Wisconsin: Red Sox 100% (1) Wyoming Canada: Blue Jays 50% (1), Tigers 50% (1) total: 52 votes, in 19 states and 1 foreign country (Canada XD) BQ (for those who already took the survey) thoughts so far? make that 53 votes since I voted oh, and the % is percent of that state followed by hwo many people have voted for that team/state. for example: Minnesota: Twins 100% (4) ^ so 4 people all voted for the Twins, making it 100%. @ niho: can only vote once dude. sorry. I'm surprised there were 3 Reds fans that voted but none were from Ohio.
Answer: Cardinals, MS

Answer: Stargirl who was now living in Pennsylvania tells about her story in the world s longest letter which is actually a series of journal entries-- this sentence is grammatically incorrect. You can say: Stargirl, now living in Pennyslvania, tells her story in a series of journal entries which take the form of the world's longest letter. Okay, so you have a lot of grammar problems, but it seems impractical for me to go through and rewrite the sentences grammatically. In addition, your summary is not a summary. Instead of paying close attention to detail focus on the whole, rather than the parts. Remember the five "Ws": Who, What, When, Where, Why. You have the who and the where, but rework the other three Ws into a grammatical paragraph about what the book was about. Remember that you are not writing a review, it is okay to tell the end of the novel. Okay for Main Characters: For stargirl good job on the descriptions of "unusual and peculiar", however you need to rewrite the rest seeing as you stated she "was now living in Pennyslvania" twice. Change the "was now living" throughout the rest of your report, this is not grammatical. Good job on the descriptions for the young girls, but watch your punctuation. Remember to add commas to prevent runons. For Betty Lou Fern: she is agoraphobic, but she has agoraphobia. Change step to stepped, as it is past tense. Perry is a dark haired and blue eyed boy. Say how he steals part of Stargirl's life and add something about his personality in. The Settings section would be better if you made it a statement instead of a list, for example: The novel is set in Pennsylvania. The characters are usually found at Stargirl's, Dootsie's, or Betty Lou's home, Margie's Donut Shop, or the park. In the park, festivals and parties are held. I wish you all the luck on your grade. :)
