Of course everytime something happens like this they blame the games. Honestly its the damn parenting, Im 17 years old, just one year older than this kid. My parents did a good job raising me they taught me good values and are very open when it comes to gaming. They dont mind if I buy M-Rated games because they, as well as I do, realize that it is that, just a game. And to me, the real world is a lot harder than any game. Look, I can play Halo 3 on Live and shoot "fake characters," and maybe die a few times in the game, but when Im done, Im going to go hang out with my friends and have a social life. Video Games have no real power over anyone, its all relative to the beholder. To be quite frank, and I must ensure you that I mean no disrespect to the mother who was murdered and my deepest sympathies are with the family, but if you are so messed up that you are gonna murder youre parents so you can play Halo 3, there is obviously something wrong with you personally. In the game, you shoot aliens that are attacking you, ALIENS Where in the game did it encourage him to kill his parents, nowhere. Did the game tell him to steal his fathers gun and kill them, no. Im a big fan of Grand Theft Auto 4, does that mean that Im gonna run through Time Square with an RPG and shoot down helicopters while talking on my cell phone, no. I love Metal Gear Solid 4, but does that mean that I am gonna sneak into the White House and bring down the United States Government and the War Economy, no. Im a fan of Bully, but does that mean Im gonna go around my school beating up people, no. I know that those things, especially bringing down the US Government, are wrong. I am disgusted at how the media jumps on anything related to games. If a kid does something wrong and they play games, the games take the blame. It really is bullshit millions of people are gamers like me and, oh my look, we are not out in the streets looting, raping and killing. A small percentage of gamers are so unstable that they apply the lessons of Niko Bellic and Master Chief to their real life and thats their own stupid ass fault. Video Game Developers are people making an honest living after years of going to school and applying their art and are villainized in the media for making "murder sims." Thank god Jack Thompson finally got disbarred, he blamed gamers for being obsessed, but he was so obsessed with stopping the release of GTA4 that after pointlessly going through the legal channels to stop the game, he sent a letter to Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnicks mother, he also claimed GTA4 was the biggest assault on children since polio and wanted to file criminal charges against Target and Best Buy for carrying the game, seems like he was a little obsessed and sick too. My main point is its not the games its the environment, the parenting and such. If the parents dont raise their kids right, well then its no wonder they turn out screwed up. Im not placing all the blame on the parents however, because living in a bad environment will adversely affect you as well. If you live in an area where people are getting killed everyday in your city, then that will no doubt have a strong, negative affect on you. Daniel Petric is an example of an insane person who commited a crime and took the cop out by twisting Halo 3 from his favorite game and something he loved and changed it to something that taught him violence and then blamed the game for the murder he commited. I dont recall anywhere in the reports of Master Chief murdering his mother and wounding his father, no, that disgusting event rests solely on his shoulders and now the bastard will live with that for the rest of his life. Games dont kill people, people kill people.

China is furious over he sale of art treasures by Christies, should anyhting be done?
The sale is 100% legit and the Chinese are crying foul saying they are art artifacts looted. Should they be returned or should China just bid on them. I am of the opinion that since they are officially a Godless Communist nation they can pay 5 times the value if they want them. The Chinese are notorious for selling fakes and their Govt has sold the world poison, and allow counterfeit goods and steal our copyrights and intellectual property. Since they think stealing our property is OK, then they should pay the price for their failure to enforce the laws. If these items were not stolen then China would probably have destroyed them during the Cultural Revolution, so they should be grateful that they are still in existence. The Govt. does not sell fakes but find me one Ebay seller from China with an actual antique...good luck
Answer: No. People like that are always finding ways to howl about something. They have no dignity. If the so-called art treasures were that important they could have bought them like anybody else. There are much more interesting pieces of loot from the Summer Palace in the various regimental museums about the place, and they cant have those either. Nobody cares if Christies finds it more difficult to do business. The company is notorious, caveat emptor.
